Just as tasty, but better for the environment

Easy and hygienic cleaning in the dishwasher

Paper straws are often seen as a more sustainable alternative to plastic straws, but are they really? Paper straws are made from trees, which is a renewable resource. However, this does not mean they are not environmentally damaging. Cutting down trees causes deforestation, which plays a significant role in climate change. Moreover, many paper straws are made with chlorine, a chemical that is harmful to the environment.

Paper straws are not only environmentally damaging, but also awkward to use. They quickly become soggy in drinks and can then be difficult to drink. In addition, they can break, allowing small pieces of paper to get into the drink.

If you're looking for a sustainable alternative to paper straws, consciously choose our organic straws!

This is what our organic straws do it for

More and more plastic waste is ending up in the oceans and forests and this is becoming a huge problem. Scientists expect that by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish floating in the oceans. As a result, hundreds of thousands of animals are dying every year from the increasing pollution. The animals mistake plastic particles for food and die a painful death with a full stomach.

Plastic products carelessly dumped into the environment break down very slowly. The resulting microplastic is often ingested as food by forest and farm animals and thus enters our food chain as well. So we eat plastic, too!

With our bio straws, we pay attention to sustainability not only during the production process and use of materials. Our bio straws are made of 100% biodegradable and biobased raw materials. compared to a straw made of PLA, which are only produced from renewable raw materials, but are only industrially compostable. This means that these straws break down only under certain thermal conditions and with a lot of energy. In contrast, our organic straw does not need years in the landfill before it degrades.

Internal tests have shown that our developed organic straws begin to break down in conventional potting soil after only a few weeks.

DIN CERTCO confirmed our organic straws as home compostable in November 2020.
